These three families were extremely lucky: they witnessed a Chanukah miracle right in the middle of a nightmare that was swirling around them. Your help for them is one step closer towards their long-awaited departure to Israel. They will have seen the shores of the Promised Land before December is over!
The sad fact that these families have lost either their business or their jobs during the pandemic is a heartbreaking reality for millions of people around the world nowadays. There is another thing that is very special for Ukraine and everyone within its borders right now: we are all living here in the blood-curdling apprehension of a possible outbreak of war.
The fear of the possible war has been driving people away from Ukraine for eight years. However, the conflict in Donbass is local, it cannot be compared to a real war that seizes the entire country. The number of armies and weapons concentrating around Ukrainian borders now, though, gives a hint of a full-scale war that can break out right in the heart of Europe.
One of these days Aleksandr Lukashenko mentioned that he was ready to give place to Russian nuclear weapons within the territory of Belarus, and this statement of his is terrifying. We don’t know who can possibly benefit from heightening the tension; we don’t know which madman will be the first to press the button, but we know well the cost of such an insane decision: human lives.
May the Lord help us! But these three families are already safe.
