Neyman family

The Neymans are another family of olim who are leaving together with Marina. They are from Mariupol, too. Waiting for the departure in the tent of the logistic hub, Lyudmila,16, has adopted a stray kitten whose misfortune is so much like her own.
Marina Eydelman arrived at the tent of the logistic hub in Zaporizhya from Mariupol. What does a refugee need within the first minutes after the arrival at a safe place? To make a phone call and let relatives know that you are safe, and maybe nibble on a piece of bread to tame the hunger of many dreadful days. In a few days, Marina and other olim will take a special bus to Moldova, and then, after a meeting with the Israeli consul there, she will take a flight to Israel.

All these people have lost their homes, they have been hiding from shelling in basements of city buildings without electricity, water or food, with no communication means.

The war has made about one-third of the entire population of Ukraine leave their homes.

More than 5 million have left abroad and now they are refugees.
More than 7 million have escaped from the shelled and ruined cities and villages to those parts of Ukraine where there’s still a possibility to find a place to live. They have become internally displaced persons.

Hundreds of thousands will have nowhere to return: their homes are completely destroyed by the hostilities. Among them, there are thousands of olim.

Zaporizhya has become a logistic hub. People whose lives, homes and whole cities lie in ruin due to the war, flow to Zaporizhya from the nearby areas … and the flow continues to grow.

Huge thanks for your support in these terrible times, It is greatly appreciated.
For Jewish refugees, their journey home to the Promised Land is way too high!

The Jewish Agency’s report published on Sunday shows that about 38,000 new repatriates from all around the world have made Aliyah to Israel after Independence Day in 2021.
The massive growth of repatriation to Israel was partially caused by the wave of migration from Ukraine after the Russian invasion that happened in February 2022.
The COVID-19 pandemic has also intensified the interest in the repatriation to Israel. Extra thousands of repatriates have moved to Israel from dozens of countries in the recent year. In accordance with the data collected by the Jewish Agency, about half of the mentioned 38,000 new repatriates have come from Ukraine or Russia; 4,000 have come from the USA and 3,700 from France.
