Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, in February this year, the number of Jewish refugees has rapidly increased. By August, more than 12,175 Olim had arrived in Israel. Last year only 2,651 had arrived during the same months. Due to the mobilisation restrictions, over 63% of the Olim were women. There are still many Jews in Ukraine who are desperate to reach Israel, so our help is always in great demand.

The war has made vast areas of Ukraine unsafe. This has led to applicants from the east, south and north of Ukraine to appeal for urgent assistance. While we cannot help them all, we can help the most desperate. Every pound counts in relieving this senseless suffering of innocent civilians.

Most of the people in this report have lost their homes, are under shelling and are under a constant death threat. Two of these Olim are over eighty years old. The good news is that they are now returning to their homeland!
