On August, 8, President of the PWC Foundation, Igor Levenshtein received an audience with the Ambassador of Israel to Ukraine, Mr. Michael Brodsky.

During the conversation, the possibility of helping Aliyah from Ukraine was discussed. Mr. Ambassador thanked the PWC Foundation and its donors from the UK for the assistance provided to the olim from Ukraine, and also expressed his wish about helping the poor Jews who, for some reason, cannot now make Aliyah and are forced to stay in Ukraine and endure the hardships of the war.  They also discussed the prospects for the activities of the Jewish community of Ukraine after the end of the war.

Some interesting figures that were also discussed: The London Institute for Jewish Policy Research, in a recent report, pointed to the massive emigration of Jews from Ukraine and Russia to Israel. According to this report, more than 60,000 Russian and more than 20,000 Ukrainian Jews arrived in Israel  during 2022-2023. “If this trend continues, by 2030 we can expect that about 80% of the Jewish community in Ukraine and over 50% of the Jewish community in Russia will emigrate,” the report notes.

We are incredibly lucky today. We managed to get the money from the  bank and were able to send it to all the olim before the air raid began!

First of all, many thanks to you and all the donors for helping our olim. It is very difficult for them now to prepare all the necessary documents for repatriation; it is very difficult to look for all the necessary documents. In addition to incredible patience, finances are also needed to survive during the war. Therefore, your help is invaluable. Thank you, thank you very much!

Soon the number of olim will increase due to the evacuation of the population from the Kharkov region, where the Russian army is expected to attack. New olim will need your help.

Thank you for everything!
